Are YOU ready for the TrailKube 2x1x24 Challenge?
The TrailKube 2x1x24 Challenge
What Is This Challenge?
The TrailKube 2x1x24 isn’t your typical running event.
It’s not a race.
It’s not a fundraiser (unless you want it to be).
It’s a personal and community test of discipline, grit, and good humour.
The format is simple:
Run 2 miles on the hour, every hour, for 24 hours.
Total: 48 miles in one day.
Do it solo or with clubmates.
Start whenever you like.
It’s an approachable taste of endurance—just enough to feel epic, without requiring ultra-marathon experience.
How Did It Start?
This all began as an idea born on the trails of Northampton.
After completing a 5-day stage ultra in Nepal, I realised the real challenge isn’t just distance—it’s discipline over time.
I wanted something ordinary runners could take on as their first big mental test.
When I ran my own 2x1x24, I learned more about mindset, fuelling, and my own limits in 24 hours than in any marathon I’d done.
Then, a friend called it:
"Half a backyard ultra—nasty enough but nice."
Perfect.
And so, the TrailKube 2x1x24 Challenge was born.
Who’s It For?
If you can run 10K, this is within your reach.
It’s for:
- Club runners curious about longer distances.
- Marathoners wanting something fresh.
- Teams or social groups looking for a shared experience.
- Anyone craving a new adventure to build confidence.
If you are a hardened ultra-runner…
Why not up the ante and try the 3x1x24 (72 miles in a day)?
Or set your own variation.
What’s In It For Your Club?
Running this as a club or community event:
- Boosts camaraderie—everyone faces the same hourly clock.
- Raises your profile—great for newsletters, local press, and social media.
- Encourages participation—members can join for as little as a few hours.
- Supports fundraising—many runners choose to do it for charity.
And it’s free. No registration fees. No official kit.
Just a challenge, a plan, and a sense of adventure.
